It is now available for free downloading the new compilation from the bands of Surfguitar101.com. All the artists contribute freely to sustain the surf music movement with original recordings or covers never released before. It's fun and a good way to listen to new good surf music. Check this out!

Daikaiju On Tour March-april
We are trying to confirm on the next days the Daikaiju's tour between mid March and mid April 2012. It will be a long tour that will bring the American band through half Europe, starting from Italy. Daikaiju are a very unusual surf band, a very aggressive approach but one of the BEST live shows you will every see. They are a tornado, a punch in the face, a very original way of reading surf music. Check their web site out. Merchandise will be available at each show of course, including records, tshirts and posters. The tour is managed by Surfer Joe Music. Wait a few more days for a confirmation and the gigs' list.

Surfer Joe's Diner Updates
We are getting closer to open the great Diner in Livorno. As the works are completed in the building we have already started looking into the events and concerts that will fill the calendar of 2012. It looks amazing! All we can anticipate is that the entrance will ALWAYS be free to all the shows. The restaurant will serve international cuisine but surely fast-food oriented: a lot of choice from the menu! Also surf music merchandise will be available for sale at the club anytime, promoting new records, bands and new music. We are talking about February... but not officially yet.

Surf people please hurry up and send your track for the 2011 compilation of surfguitar101.com. You need to subscribe to the web site and send the file. Anyone is well accepted, you can send demos too, but send your original stuff never released before! Once registered, please follow the thread on the forum for updates.

Brave New Surf: What A Compilation!
The new Double Crown production is simply amazing. Directed by the expert eye of Ivan Pongracic (Madeira, Space Cossacks) and with the collaboration of many surf music friends this album puts together what is probably the best of the last few years. Further information about the project is available on the web site. What is important is the spirt of this CD, not only for a public of surf fans, but intended to diffuse the beauty of this genre and the idea that this is not dead at all around the world. Doc Legume Did It Again!
La Planete Sauvage is the new work of Docteur Legume, a self produced album completely downloadable at the given link. This Italian surf & garage music fan is really producing great stuff. Apart from surf music, his recordings are a fashinating mix of whatever is trashy and sci-fi with spicy beat condiments. Totally enjoyable. Get it: highly recommended!

Surferjoe.it: Go Back To The Origins...
The main web domain for Surfer Joe is going back to the .it. The decision is due to the new activities of the Association and the fact that the Italian business will be much enlarged. So go back from where we started on 2002... The surferjoemusic.com domain will remain active of course.

New Web Site Online On December 1st
As planned the new Surfer Joe web site will be online on Decmeber 1st. This will include some updates and some important info about what is going to happen with the Association in the future. Please check it out and get ready for many extension and updates coming up from now on during the next months.

The Convention is the greatest surf music event in the US. Organized by Jeff Big Tiki Dude it really puts together all the American community & more. It is an occasion to meet great artists, friends and legends participating to the concerts and jam sessions for an entire day into surf music. SURF MUSIC: WHAT IS IT?
Surf is generally and historically considered an instrumental music genre derived from rock 'n' roll and blues, born in southern California at the very end of the 50s and largely diffused all over the US between 1961 and 1965.
The music has since then spread out anywhere and surfer joe music is
just an example of how global and intense surf music's production is
today with new surf bands growing and developing every year.
Surfer Joe helps making surf music never die.
Some people think SURF MUSIC had a very short life in the beginning of the 60s in USA, but really this music has never died. The main features of this genre, that from the Dick Dale's sound evolved into a reverb drenched mix of guitars & drums, have been carried on successfully by a large multitude of bands around the globe.
But NOT all instrumental music is surf music... and surf music is NOT "surfers who play some guitar"... :)

Search online for "surf music" and you will find a lot of sources to tell you the stories and facts of this original Californian movement and its great diffusion everywhere!
